Acupuncture and Dry Needling

At BSP we use multiple tools to get you out of pain and functioning better faster! We are excited to offer Acupuncture and Dry Needling. Both dry needling and acupuncture involve the insertion of thin needles into certain parts of the body, but they are not the same.

Acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese medicine with the idea of balance and restoring proper flow of energy throughout the body. This is accomplished by inserting needles along meridian lines that represent the body’s organs. This is an effective way to treat internal ailments, including digestive problems, insomnia, stress and chronic pain.

Dry needling is based on modern Western medicine. This treatment was developed in the 1980s, and during treatment, needles are inserted into trigger points, or tender bands of muscle located within larger muscles.

When needles are inserted into trigger points, they elicit a response that release the trigger points and restore normal function. Dry needling is used to treat cases of chronic and acute pain without the use of medication, surgical procedures, etc.

Here at Bayside Spine we use a combination of therapies to help you perform your best. We offer Moist Heat, which improves nerve conductivity and relaxes spastic muscles, Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS), which can be used to aid in muscle relaxation, recovery, and strength, and Ultrasound therapy, which has been shown to increase blood flow and in turn accelerates healing rate.

We also use therapeutic and performance based rehabilitation techniques including stretches, exercises, and proprioceptive activities. This will allow you to prevent injury and deliver optimal performance.

Myofascial Release

We employ a wide array of very effective hands on soft tissue therapies that focus on an injury as well as the surrounding areas. We utilize cupping therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and Muscle Release Technique to break up scar tissue, increase strength of tendons and ligaments, and reduce fascial restrictions. This results in superior movement, increased joint movement, a decrease in pain and discomfort, and better performance.

Sports Recovery

We are proud to offer the same cutting edge technology that all of your favorite professional athletes use to stay in the game and perform their best. We deploy NormaTec recovery boots and Hypervolt percussive therapy to reduce muscle fatigue after exercise, decrease inflammation, and increase range of motion.

Here at Bayside Spine we also offer Functional Taping for Musculoskeletal Injuries (FTMI). This can be applied to increase proprioception, enhance neuromuscular facilitation, and help with lymphatic drainage.

Class IV Laser Therapy

Class IV Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation (PBM). During PBM, photons enter the tissue and trigger a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, which decreases pain and inflammation, and accelerates the healing process.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy utilizes acoustic radial pressure waves (RPW) that generate oscillations in the tissue. This therapy helps reduce muscle pain and activate connective tissue, temporarily aid in the increase of blood flow, and help in treatment of tendinitis and various musculoskeletal conditions.

T.E.C.A.R. Therapy

It is a high-frequency, non-invasive energy which stimulates your body's natural cellular ability to repair itself. It reduces pain and inflammation, restores movement and increases blood flow. Winback energy can be used for many degrees of pain due to natural inflammatory processes on the extremities or spine.

The WinBack contains a mobile electrode handled by the therapist, which treats the region affected by the pathology, and a fixed electrode that is in contact with the patients’ skin, serving as a conductor. Radiofrequency energy current between 300 KHz and 1000 KHz travels through the electrode for immediate tension release. The variation of frequencies and attachments allow the therapist to treat a range of disorders and their specific characteristics. The patient may feel a gentle, relaxing warmth produced by your own body, but there is no electrical sensation during treatment. It allows the treatment of different pathologies in acute or subacute phases, without producing inflammation due to an increase in tissue temperature.

Whole Body Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is used to optimize health by reducing pain, bolstering immune system, providing a full-body detox, increasing collagen production, help with signs of aging, and tackling cellulite among a myriad of other benefits.

Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

The primary goal of using the Hyperbaric Chamber is to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood plasma, which in turn will actually speed up the recovery processes and help regenerate soft tissue and bone in an athlete or common person.

Infrared Sauna

Offering advanced near, mid, and far infrared technologies. Our robust True Wave Full Spectrum heating system provides all wavelengths 100% of the time to optimize your sauna session.

Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy is a fast-growing technology used to treat a multitude of conditions that require stimulation of healing, relief of pain and inflammation, and restoration of function. Red Light Therapy delivers light energy to various parts of the body through Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) and is readily absorbed by the cells. This light energy penetrates the tissue, providing what is needed to activate increased circulation and trigger the release of Nitric Oxide, the body’s natural vasodilator. The therapy has also been proven to be effective in the treatment of various musculo-skeletal conditions, such as the carpal tunnel syndrome or fibromyalgia. In those who suer from a temporomandibular joint disorder, Red Light Therapy is capable of improving overall function.
