ACUPUNCTURE
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique that uses thin, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body.
At Bayside Spine & Performance, acupuncture can be incorporated into an individualized treatment plan alongside chiropractic care, manual therapy, exercise, and other treatment methods when appropriate.
AN INDIVIDUALIZED APPROACH
Acupuncture treatment isn't identical for every patient.
Needle placement and treatment strategy are selected based on your health history, symptoms, examination findings, and treatment goals.
Depending on your needs, acupuncture may be performed independently or integrated with other treatments available at Bayside.

ACUPUNCTURE & MUSCULOSKELETAL CARE
Acupuncture has been studied for a number of pain-related conditions and may be incorporated into the management of certain musculoskeletal complaints.
For patients already receiving chiropractic, manual therapy, or rehabilitation, acupuncture provides another treatment option that can be considered as part of the overall plan.
ACUPUNCTURE VS. DRY NEEDLING
Although acupuncture and dry needling both use thin needles, they are distinct treatment approaches.
Dry needling typically targets specific muscles and other tissues identified during a musculoskeletal examination, while acupuncture uses its own system of point selection and treatment strategies.
Because Bayside offers both, your provider can determine which approach is most appropriate based on your individual presentation.
WHAT DOES ACUPUNCTURE FEEL LIKE?
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin. Many patients experience little discomfort during insertion, although sensations such as pressure, heaviness, tingling, or a mild ache can occur.
