PEMF THERAPY
PEMF THERAPY
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy, commonly called PEMF, uses controlled electromagnetic pulses that pass through the body non-invasively.
PEMF technology has been used in medical, rehabilitation, and recovery settings, with different devices designed to deliver electromagnetic fields at specific frequencies and intensities.
At Bayside Spine & Performance, PEMF is one of several technologies available as part of our individualized approach to treatment and recovery.
HOW DOES PEMF WORK?
PEMF systems use a coil or applicator to generate a changing electromagnetic field.
Researchers have studied how externally applied electromagnetic fields interact with biological tissue and influence cellular signaling and other physiological processes.
The biological effects of PEMF depend on factors such as frequency, intensity, waveform, treatment duration, and the specific device being used.

WHY DO WE USE PEMF?
PEMF may be incorporated into selected treatment or recovery programs based on the patient's condition and goals.
Rather than recommending it automatically, we consider how it fits alongside the other components of your care and recovery strategy.
WHAT DOES PEMF FEEL LIKE?
PEMF is non-invasive and doesn't involve needles or incisions.
The experience depends on the equipment and settings being used. Some PEMF applications produce very little sensation, while higher-intensity systems can produce noticeable muscular stimulation.
We'll explain the treatment and what to expect before your session.
ONE TOOL WITHIN A LARGER RECOVERY SYSTEM
Bayside provides access to multiple treatment and recovery technologies rather than relying on a single modality for every problem.
Depending on your needs, PEMF may be considered alongside hands-on care, exercise, laser therapy, TECAR, shockwave, HBOT, or other recovery strategies.
The goal isn't to use every machine. It's to select the appropriate tools for the person in front of us.
